OPS Global Risk Management has received a report that a passenger boat was attacked whilst underway in the Koluama creeks. Armed pirates shot two passengers, one of which was a pregnant woman. The pirates then stole personal belongings from the passengers and a 200 horsepower engine from the passenger boat. The passengers have been rescued and taken to the nearby village of Koluama II

Event: Suspicious Approach
It has been reported that a vessel has been approached by three skiffs 65nm south east of Takoradi. The occupants were wearing camouflage clothing and carrying weapons.
Vessels within a 100 nautical mile radius should increase their anti-piracy deterrents in line with Best Management Practices 4. This should include increased twenty four hour anti-piracy watch keeping and radar monitoring. Vessel hardening should be checked and where appropriate bolstered.
