2. Description: At
132211ZDEC20 UKMTO is aware a MT has experienced an explosion in position
212353N 0390517E whist carrying out operations. There are also unconfirmed
reports of a second vessel being involved in an incident. Investigations are
ongoing.
3. UKMTO has been
informed that the Port of JEDDAH is closed, duration unknown.

WARNING 002/DEC/2020 UPDATE 002
1. Category:
INCIDENT
2. Description: On
13 Dec 2020 at 2216 UTC a MT suffered an explosion whilst alongside Jeddah,
Saudi Arabia. The explosion was reportedly external, causing an internal fire
which was extinguished within the hour and no casualties have been reported. A
survey for underwater damage is ongoing.
3. UKMTO is aware of
reports of another possible incident in the vicinity of Jeddah Port.

Naval ships will carry out Surface, Anti-Aircraft and Depth Charge LIVE FIRING
PRACTICE between 0400 and 1700UTC from 01-04, 07-11, 14-18, 21-24 and 28-31 Dec
2020 in the following areas:
3. Ships and Craft are to keep well clear of assigned danger areas on above specified schedule.
All vessels in the vicinity are to stay vigilant and to report any incidents to UKMTO. All vessels are
requested to inform UKMTO if any interference is noted on Radios/Radars/GPS.
